Account Questions and ROES Ordering

I'm a current customer of Simply Canvas, do I need to re-register?
No. All of your information has been transferred over to our new system.

I'm a New User. What is my account number?
Once your first order is placed, our computer system will automatically generate an account number which we will promptly email to you.

Do I need an account number to place my first order in ROES?
To place your first order in Roes, you simply need your log in and password that has been approved by Simply Color Lab. We ask that all new registrants submit their first order in ROES as a "new user." Once your first order has been received and invoiced, you will then receive a computer generated Account Number by email.

Can you look up my log in and password information if I have forgotten it?
Yes, please call or email us a This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we will happily look up your account information.

If I already have the ROES software with another lab, do I still need to launch yours?
Yes, you will need to still launch our software so that your order comes to us for processing.

Will I receive confirmation or notice once my order has been received?
When submitting your order through ROES, you should receive a message "confirmation sent thank you" once your order has been sent from the queue. Please do not exit out of your ROES system until you receive this message. Also, once we receive your order and invoice it, you will receive an email stating that your order has been received, invoiced and is entering our Printing Department. If you have not received an email invoice within 24 hours of submitting your order through ROES (48 hours if placed on a weekend or holiday), please call our Customer Service Representatives to verify receipt of your order.

Do you work with consumers?
Simply Color Lab is a pro-only lab and must approve all submitted customer registrations as professional photographers.

Can I view my Order History online?
Yes. Our order history is now available online.

Can I view and submit images from previous orders?
Unfortunately, the ROES ordering system does not allow customers to view images from past orders. While Simply Color Lab does have the capability to look up your past order, we kindly ask that all new orders be re-submitted to ensure that all specifications listed are current and correct and that each new order receives a number for tracking purposes. We do not store images on file for pro-longed periods of time as images are exclusively used for your private printing purposes.

What if I need to cancel an order?
If an order has been accidently submitted more than once, please call Customer Experience immediately to verify and void the duplicate order(s). If you have to cancel an order for any reason, please call us within 24 hours of placing your order. If the order has already been printed and charged, we cannot cancel your order due to the custom nature of the product.

Do the files go directly to print once I place my order?
All images will be viewed and verified for correct set up, contrast and color by Simply Color Lab print technicians before being submitted for production. If they have a question or concern with your file, you will be contacted before your image goes to print.

How do I upload my image in ROES?
To upload images into ROES, Images will need to be placed in a folder first then go to "Get Images" in Step #2 to search your personal computer files for your image. Once you have selected your images, you can drag and drop specific images into your template in Step #3.

Discount Codes and Pricing

How can I verify a discount code has been applied to my order?
Discount codes will be honored once verified by Simply Color Lab. Once approved, the discount will be applied and reflected in your Order Invoice. Please allow us to review your invoice to ensure your order has been placed and processed correctly. Your credit card will be charged before printing. Please keep in mind that most discounts cannot be combined with any other offers, promotions, discounts or Simply Cash.

How do I determine the price of a Custom Size Print?
Custom Sized calculators are located under the "How Much" tab for each specific product. Enter your unique dimensions and the calculators will configure the price for you.

Do you have discounts for first time customers?
Yes! When you register with us through our photographers program, you will receive a Welcome Packet that includes first time customer coupons. Also, check out our Sales Page on SimplyColorLab.com where you'll also find first time customer discounts and current sales.

General Printing Questions

What kind of printers do you use?
We use the Epson 11880's and Epson genuine Ultrachrome inks. The inks will not fade for generations. It is rated to last 100 years.

What kind of papers do you use?
We offer Traditional Papers: Linen, Glossy, Luster, and Metallic. We also offer Hahnemuhle papers in Bayrta, Pearl, Bamboo, Photo Rag Bright White, Photo Rag, Sugar Cane, German Etching and Torchon.

What is the largest paper size you can print?
We can print sizes ranging from wallets to 44 x 100. Gallery wrapped canvas prints from a 6x6 up to a 56x120. If you happen to have a custom size, please use our custom size calculator under our pricing page.

What is the archival life of a photo print?
All of our papers have been tested for their archival quality and are predicted to last 85-100 years. All of our prints are also spayed with a UV protective coating.

What type of canvas do you use?
Our canvas is a high quality, water resistant poly-cotton blend. It has a PH neutral, acid free coating with a pure white point. This allows for greater consistence from print to print.

Are your canvas prints archival?
Absolutely. Every aspect of our prints is archival from the canvas and gesso to the ink and UV coating and are predicted to last 85-100 years

Do you consider your canvas process giclee?
Yes, our process is giclee. Giclee is the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing.

What material are my images printed on if I order Photo Stand Displays?
Images are printed onto a bright white photo banner material.

File Color Space Info

What color space do you use?
We accept Adobe RGB, sRGB and Pro Photo color spaces. We prefer files to be left in their native color space. There is no need to convert between color spaces, which could cause inaccurate colors.

Do you use a color profile and is the profile available for download?
Yes, we do have a soft proofing profile that you can use to adjust your files. This allows you to proof your files under our printing conditions. Our soft proofing profile is both Mac and pc compatible. To locate, go to "The Goods" and choose "Simply Canvas Gallery Wraps". The download link is to the right of the image.

When saving a file, do I need to embed Simply Color Lab profile?
No. You do not want to embed our profile. You want to only view and adjust your images under the profile.

How do I know if my color is going to match what I see on my screen?
First, verify that your monitor is calibrated with a professional calibration device. This is a very important step. If your monitor is calibrated, you will not see much shift in color. Most of the color shift occurs when your monitor is not calibrated. If you are nervous about color, you are more than welcome to request a test print for a small fee.

Canvas Wraps and Borders

What border wrap options do I have for my canvas?
Simply Color Lab offers three options to choose from for your borders. You can choose a natural wrap, solid border (any color of your choice) or digitally stretched. See our tutorials for set up of these options.

What is a gallery-wrap?
A gallery-wrap is the process of wrapping the printed canvas around a custom made stretcher frame. The image is wrapped around the frame for a clean, modern look. If there is not enough picture to stretch, have no fear will digitally stretch the image so that is wraps around the edges without hurting the integrity of the image. All work is done with an artist's critical eye. We will not print an image if we don't think it is going to turn out perfect.

What is a gallery-wrap with a border?
A gallery-wrap with a border means that you will either request or place a solid color or a digital stretch around the sides of your print.

What is a natural wrap?
Natural wrap means that your entire image will continue to wrap around the sides of the canvas frame. No adjustments have to be made to your file to make it fit for the wrap. Images shot loose work best for a natural wrap. Tight composition will result in subject wrapping onto edges.

What is digital stretching?
Digital stretching is a printing option for the sides of the canvas (wrap). It means that we take a slight piece of our image on each side and stretch it to make it fit for the sides of the canvas. This will give you the effect of your image looking naturally wrapped around the frame. The more of the image we stretch, the more the image will look distorted. The less we have to stretch the image, the less it will look distorted. Keep in mind this applies for the sides of the canvas only, not the face of the canvas. You would choose this option if your do not want to lose your cropping for the front face of the canvas.

If I want to order my image with a border or digital stretch in the ROES software, how do I do that?
You will first want to go to "canvas products" on the bottom of section #1 and click on that. Then click on Border/Digital Stretch tab and choose your sizing template below. Drag and drop your image from Step 2 into Step 3. You will see you front face image and the blue shaded area where you're image will be wrapped. Then, in Step 4, choose either a white, black, colored or digital stretch option for your border.

How do I size my photo on ROES to allow for the natural wrap?
Add 2 inches per side and 4 inches per dimension in Photoshop. So if you want a 20x24 canvas then you will size it as a 24x28. Then drop this file into ROES for a 20x24 canvas.

How many inches do I need to add to my image to allow for the wrap?
You will want to allow 2 inches per side. So that means 2 inches for the top, bottom and each side which means 4 inches per dimension larger that what you would like to have the finished front. So, for example, if you are ordering a 16x20 print, you would want to size your file at 20x24.

Can you print word wraps?
Yes, we can. We are one of the only canvas companies to print word wraps. Our stretchers will make sure your word wraps and borders are aligned perfectly on the frame.

How do I set up my file for a word wrap?
First, determine your target front face size of your canvas and add 4 inches to the height and width in order to allow a 2inch border for the wrap of the canvas. Pull guides from your rulers in Photoshop at 2 inches from each edge to verify your template for your target size. Anything that lies inside the guides will be on the front face of the canvas and the border your created will be the wrap of the canvas. Next pull another set of guides at Ω" from each edge. You have 1 Ω" to work with for the text. Make sure the text is between the two guides. Your text will be on the sides of the canvas and not wrapping to the back edge.

Canvas File Prep Specifics

How do I need to prep my files for canvas printing?
The first step is to set up for your file correctly for printing. Whatever your target size on the front face of the canvas, you want to add an additional 4 inches for the height and the width. This will create a 2 inch border on each side for the wrap of the canvas. Second, pull your guide lines for your rulers in Photoshop 2 inches from each edge. This will create your template for your target size. Anything inside the guides will be on the front face of the canvas. Anything outside the lines will be the wrap of the canvas. Third, drag your image into the template and adjust the image to the cropping of your choice. Use the guides for placement of your image. For example, if you are ordering a 16x20, the file would need to be set up as a 20x24 at 100dpi (ppi).

What size file do I need for canvas printing?
We need you to size your images to your target size at 100dpi. Do not forget to add the additional 4 inches to create a 2inch border on each size for the wrap of the canvas!

Why 100dpi?
The nature of printing on canvas with inkjet technology allows us to create extremely sharp prints from lower resolution files. We use the best RIP (Raster Image Processing) software for final output and sizing. 100dpi files work best for both quality and workflow.

What type of adjustments do I need to make to my files for canvas prints?
Treat your files as you would for your paper prints for your lab. If you do all your color correcting and adjustments yourself, by all means treat your files for Simply Color the same. If you normally have your lab do you adjustments, no fear! Our printing technicians in the printing department will do your adjustments for you.

If the frame is an 1 1/2", why do I need to add 2" on each side to my file?
We have you add 2 inches on each side because a 1/2" from each side will wrap around the back of the frame where it is stapled and assembled.

If I order a split panel, how do I need to set up the file?
Setting up a split panel can be tricky. First determine your overall target size for the front face of the canvas. Second, decide how you want your image to be split. You can split your image into even panels or uneven panels. Once you have decided how many panels you want, pull guides at each dimension where the panel will split. Third, remember to add an additional 4 inches to your height and width for the outside wrap of your image. Fourth, pull guides two inches from each guide that you placed to split the image. Then crop each panel of the image using the adjusted guides. Simply Color Lab does offer a split image set-up service including a digital proof sent via email for a flat $25.00.

What is the largest paper print that can be produced?
Simply Color Lab offers sizes ranging from wallets to 44x100.

Is there any type of protectant applied to the print?
A Water based UV coating. †It maintains the original integrity of the original paper while increasing the papers durability against scratching and damage and increasing the life of the print.

What is the largest canvas size that can be produced?
Simply Color Lab offers sizes ranging from 6x6 to 56x100. Please check our canvas products list for full list of size offerings.

What is the difference between the "hanging hardware" and the "black paper"?
The hanging hardware is a heavy duty wire that is across the back of the frame, which allows the print to hang flush along the wall. Adding hanging hardware to your canvas print allows it to be ready for display as soon as you or your customer receives it. Black paper covers the back of the print for a more finished look with a sawtooth hanger. The price of the hanging hardware is $5 and the black paper with sawtooth is $10.

Are the canvas prints sprayed with any type of protectant?
Yes, all of our prints are sprayed with a UV protectant that will protect your print from fading and cracking for many years to come.

What size stretcher frames do you offer?
Our standard stretcher frame is 1 1/2 inches. We also offer a 3/4 thin frame and a 2 1/2 inch frame.

What if my canvas print loosens overtime?
Don't be alarmed. Simply Color Lab can send you're a small bottle of retentioner spray that is applied to the back of the canvas. Spray a light, even coat on the back of the print. Once the retentioner spray has dried, the canvas will tighten back to its original state.

What is the largest banner size that can be produced?
We can print as large as a 60x144.

Can we order Replacement Banners?
Replacement Banners are available for purchase. Stands can be purchased separately as well. For more information on Stands, Replacement Banners, Custom Banners, and additional pieces, please view the Photo Stand Display Product Page.

How do I replace my Banner?
To replace a banner with the retractable stand, please view our video tutorial or send your stand back to us and we'll switch them out.

Can I get a print on canvas without a frame?
Simply Color Lab does offer Non-Stretched, rolled canvas prints, as well as mounted on Masonite.

Can I frame my gallery-wrapped canvas print?
Simply Color Lab offers floating frames. Our frames leave a 1/2" space between the canvas and the edge of the frame to preserve the three dimensional look of the canvas. Each hand made frame is available for prints from 8x10 to 40x60 and any size in between at no extra charge. Available in different styles and colors.

Turnaround and Delivery Times

How will know if my order has been shipped?
Once your order has been shipped, you will receive an email confirmation including your order details and Fed Ex tracking number.

What is the estimated delivery of the products?
Your invoice will show an estimated ship date based on production time and shipping selection. On average, depending on location, allow 2-5 days for Fed-Ex ground shipping.

Does Simply Color Lab "drop ship" to clients?
Yes. We do drop ship for no additional cost and we will not place any type of invoice or Simply Color Lab labeling in or on the box. When placing your order in ROES, simply enter your client's information in the drop ship section of ROES.

What is your turnaround time?

All turnaround times are an estimate based on in-house standard processing. Turnaround times may increase during sales and holidays.

Return Policy

What happens if I receive any products and they are damaged?
We would need you to take a photo of the damaged product or damaged packaging and email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . From there we will get in touch with you and correct this for you right away.

Customer satisfaction is top priority at Simply Color Lab. In all cases we will try to ensure that all customers receive excellent customer service. In some instances, it may be necessary for Simply Color Lab to replace or refund damaged products. Below are general guidelines that we follow in servicing our customers.

Notice of damaged merchandise must be submitted to Simply Color Lab in writing via email within 72 hours upon documented delivery date by the shipping courier. Damaged prints need to be returned to Simply Color Lab for inspection before refunds or replacements can be submitted. In some instances, Simply Color Lab may waive this requirement upon discretion. Upon contacting Simply Color Lab, further details on replacement procedures will be provided.† Please save all packing material, as it will be required by Fed Ex to inspect to determine if the package was damaged by them in shipping.

Simply Color Lab is not responsible for damage to prints after they have been delivered and caused by a third party. Damaged items that occur prior to or as a result of shipping and handling can be replaced for free once they are returned to Simply Color Lab.† Please email us images of the damaged prints if you can.† That can speed up replacement.

Conditions that are not acceptable reasons for replacement or refund include but is not limited to differences in color tones or hues than expected, smudging or scratches that occur due to handling, direct exposure to the elements such as heat and moisture, sizing discrepancies due to the 1/2" allowance we require, or late deliveries. Please handle your prints carefully. We cannot replace a print that is damaged from mishandling after you receive it.

Loyalty Program

What is the Loyalty program?
Simply Color Lab's loyalty program allows you to earn points for all of the products you purchase from Simply Color Lab. Each time you pay for a product, the amount you paid will be added to your loyalty point's total, even sale items. For sale items you will receive points based on the amount you paid for the product, not the regular price of the product. Points are awarded dollar for dollar at the time of the payment of the transaction. Once you have earned 1000 points you can begin trading in your points for Simply Cash™. (Simply Cash™ is awarded at a rate of 5% of your total points ñ 1000 Loyalty Points earns $50 in Simply Cash™).

Press Printed Products

What format should I submit my press image in?
Please submit your file to us in RGB.

How should I submit a custom die cut file for press?
You will need to use our templates to create a Layered PSD file and also a flattened Jpeg. Please submit your file to us as a Flattened Jpeg Image and once the print department has proofed the image, we will contact you for a layered PSD File.

What are your press card sizes?
A variety of sizes are available on our blue price sheet. You may also see every size available in our ROES ordering system.

What kind of templates and how many do you offer for press?
We have 23 standard die cut templates plus 2 holiday templates that are available on our website. We also have 22 standard templates with a straight edge available on simplycolorlab.com too. You can download these templates easily there. These templates allow for the 1/8î bleed required, so they are slightly larger than the actual printing size. Make sure all relevant visuals and copy are not in the 1/8î bleed area on all sides. We will contact you if there is an issue.

Do prices vary for different press papers?
All of our press papers are the same price. We have a great variety of gloss, linen, felt, pearl and many more to choose from including ECO friendly papers.

Can customers submit a custom size for press?
Yes you can! The largest size we can currently cut is a 12x18. Please call customer service for custom pricing.

What are the press shipping costs?
Orders over $75 are shipped free. †(The charge is $5.95 shipping on all press orders under $75)†

What are the die cut set up cost?
There is a nominal charge of $7.50/25 cards to use our standard die cut templates. Custom die cutting is also available. Custom die cuts are $49 for all order less than $200. Orders over $200 are free.

What is the press run quantity?
We currently offer our press printed products in quantities of 25 or 50. Example… To order 200, place an order for 4 sets of 50.

Where are the templates and pricing for press located?
The templates are located at simplycolorlab.com under "The Goods" tab. Then click on the press printed products. After you log in you can then download your templates and see the prices from there.

What kind of Press do you have?
We currently have an HP Indigo.

How long is the custom die cut charge good for?
Forever, once you have created your custom die cut template you can use it as many times as you would like.

What is a Simply Fine Art Book?
We sourced the highest quality papers and covers for our new line of albums. More substantial covers the thickest LayFlat papers and, as usual, more custom options make Simply Fine Art Books an affordable, high-end addition to your product line. Choose from our Chunky, Super Chunk or Pillow Top albums covered with premium real leather or over 50 Fabric Bookcloths. You can also choose a printed cover on canvas (Matte or Luster finish) or metallic or matte paper.

What do you mean by Pillow Top cover?
Pillow top covers are the thickest, softest album cover on the market.

The finished depth of the front and back Pillow Top cover is an amazing 1/2" each. That's makes it a 1" book before you even add any pages. We take the Chunky Album Board and add a layer of firm 1/4" padding to create a dent-free, soft yet sturdy Pillow Top Album. Available in Fabric, Canvas, and Leather.

What is a Simply Canvas Backdrop™?
Simply Canvas Backdrops are 100% canvas, non-glare Backdrops. Simply Color Lab's Backdrops are sprayed with a UV matte spray. Unlike other "shiny" Backdrops that take forever to light to remove glare, our backdrops let you spend less time lighting and more time shooting.

What size Backdrops do you offer?
Simply Backdrops are available in 5x4, 5x6, 5x8, 5x10, and 5x15

What is a Single Drop?
A Single Drop is a backdrop with a single design on it. Single Drops are available in 5x4, 5x6, 5x8, and 5x10.

What is a Twin Drop?
A Twin Drop is a backdrop that is split into two separate backdrop designs. Twin Drops are available in 5x8, 5x10 and 5x15.

What is a Triplet Drop?
A Triplet Drop is a backdrop that has three separate backdrop designs. Triplet Drops are available in 5x10 and 5x15.

Is there an additional charge for more than one design on the Twin or Triplet drops?
No, it costs the same for one design or up to three on the Twin or Triplet Drops.

How do I Order a Simply Canvas Backdrop?
1. Click Here to view our backdrop designs and download the low-res Ordering Thumbnails. (Don't worry this is a small file)
2. These files are only for uploading into ROES and for ordering purposes. (Note that this download is also available on the main Simply Canvas Backdrops page)
3. When you're ready to order, either load the entire backdrop Ordering Thumbnail file into ROES or just the Designs you want to try out. Be sure to only use images downloaded from here. You cannot use your own images at this time.
4. Launch ROES and select the Canvas Backdrops catalog.
5. Select the template for the size and type of backdrop you want to design. Please note to select a Twin Drop or Triplet Drop Template if you want to have more than one design on your backdrop.
6. Drag and drop the Ordering Thumbnails into the template to try out different looks and combinations. This is a visual Representation of the backdrop only. DO NOT Crop, Zoom or Rotate the image, as these changes will not be reflected in the finished product.
7. If desired, choose a Digital Wood Molding option from the options area in ROES. If you choose a Twin Drop, the Digital Wood Molding will be placed at the bottom edge of the top Backdrop Design you placed in ROES when it is printed. If you choose a Single Drop the Digital Wood Molding will be placed at the bottom edge of the design when it is printed. (Note that Digital Wood Molding is only available on Single and Twin Drops).

Fine Art Paper, Simply Vivid™ Prints, Canvas and Press File Preparation

What type of files would you prefer for paper prints?
Simply Color Lab prefers that you submit your images as jpeg's when uploading your files. If you have a question about a file type, feel free to contact us for more information.
Canvas files should be a minimum of 100 PPI at target dimensions.
Paper print files should be a minimum of 200 PPI at target dimensions.
Vivid Prints and Press product files should be a minimum of 300 PPI at target dimensions.

Do we scan negatives?
To ensure a high level quality print, Simply Color Lab only accepts digital files.

Do you offer color correction?
Color Correction is Free on Fine Art and Canvas prints and charged by the print for Vivid Prints. Press Printed Accordion Books and Super Mini's are color corrected at a rate of 1.50 per panel. Press Printed Fine Art Books are color corrected at a rate of 1.50 per side. Our printing technicians can also retouch your photos and complete Photoshop work for a small fee.

Can I do my own color correcting?
If you choose to color correct your own images we highly recommend downloading and previewing your images using our soft proofing profiles on a correctly calibrated monitor. If you choose to have Simply Color Lab correct your file, our trained printing experts will print for best possible color and density. Color and density is subjective and prints may appear differently under varied lighting conditions. Reprints due to color and density will be reviewed on a per print basis and may, at our request, require a matched paper print to be supplied to insure satisfaction.

Do I need to set up my files before ordering it in the ROES ordering software?
We highly suggest that you set up your files in Photoshop before ordering it in ROES. This way you can check to make sure that all of your files are set up properly.

What file format should I submit files?
We prefer a high level JPEG (quality 12).

Will my image be pixilated?
Absolutely not! If your file is crisp going in, it will be crisp coming out, as long as the dpi is correct. We need your file to be sized at actual size 100dpi for Canvas, 200dpi for Fine Art Prints, and 300dpi for Vivid Prints and Press Printed Products.

The first line will automatically pull your studio name (up to 36 characters) and a copyright sign with the year. The second line is for the original name of the image file. (limit of 27 characters) The third line holds your ROES order number.

What is a Proof Book?
A Proof Book contains as many non-color corrected images as you like with either one or multiple images per page. Each book comes with a black spiral binding, a clear protective plastic cover, your choice of an image for the cover sheet and a durable black cardstock back.

What sizes and combinations are available for Proof Books?
Proof Books can come in 8x10 and 11x14 sizes.
For both sizes, you can choose from 1, 4, 6, 9, or 12 images per page.

Where can I order Proof Books?
Proof Books can be ordered in the Simply Vivid Proof Book Catalog in our ROES ordering system.

How should my flies be set up?
Images will appear in the same orientation and aspect ratio as received when dropped into ROES. Be sure to rotate and/or crop as necessary prior to uploading. All files need to be at least 300 dpi and .jpg.

Is there a page limit to Proof Books?
Nope! Include as many pages as you like! If your book reaches maximum size for the binding, we will split it into separate books for you.

Snap-On Silicone Covers This slim profile cover has a Printed Metal Insert in a hard plastic shell that has a soft-silicone feel. This cover contains openings for the camera lens and any buttons or ports that need accessed. This cover does not cover the touch-screen portion of the iPad & is compatible with Smart Covers.

Soft Folio Stand Cover - Available for iPad 1, iPad 2 and iPad 3. This cover not only protects the iPad, it also doubles as a stand with three adjustable stand settings, so propping it up for use is easy.
